Definitely my favorite track from the new album, even if it kind of goes all “Hey Soul Sister” in the middle of the verses.
Here’s a little informal Soundcloud drop to brighten your Wednesday morning.
The “Songs for Justice” preorder was going to go up today, but our small team (aka 3) needed an extra day to get everything together (there’s a lot going up simultaneously,) and we were afforded the opportunity to get the compilation into hands of a few extra promotional outlets, so we’re popping everything up online on the 18th instead.
HOWEVER, as a small consolation for the delay, we put up Young Statues’ amazing cover of Ryan Adam’s “Ashes and Fire” up on our Soundcloud.
You might have heard the cover on the Covers EP that the band released early last year, but this is a brand new mix done by Portugal the Man’s producer, Casey Bates, and it’s one of my favorite tracks on the entire album.
Enjoy.

Hey friends, this is a very personal post (first of a series of posts) about the heart behind the compilation album I have coming out later this month. Please read, like, and share. It’d mean a lot.
